I generally get a new laptop every 2 years. Overall, aside from the RAM configurations (gosh, I really wish they made 16gb the standard for now since they're soldering the RAM into the motherboards), it's really not worth the hassle of an exchange, port over your Apple Care (if you got it) to the newly exchanged 2014 refresh of the rMBP 13'.

Amazingly enough, as incremental as the update was for the 13' rMBP, they were actually sold out at one of the SF Apple Stores (my co-worker attempted to buy one today, sold out on the mid-level 13' rMBP). There is a 15% restocking fee (so just the hassle of getting a very small clock speed boost which might be negligible depending on what you're doing with your MBP might not be worth it). I bought it off Best Buy (because I took advantage of their Back to School discounts which took down $150 off the price, that and I had about $100 in Best Buy gift certificates on top of that). I have the very same late 2013 rMBP w/8gb of RAM and 256 of SSD Flash. I probably know the answer to some of these questions, but getting feedback from others would be super helpful and appreciated. At the beginning of July I bought the (late 2013) MacBook Pro with retina display, (2.4ghz, 8gb RAM, 256 PCIe SSD Flash) I guess I am just curious if the new speed bump is 'incremental' or is it a newer processor or something, should I sell my macbook and get the updated one or is 2.4ghz not going to be much different than (2014) 2.6ghz, ( is there a huge difference in performance or will it not really be noticeable?)ДЄnother question is: Does OS X Yosemite require that processor or something?
